1. Tuna Tomato Pasta
All ingredients that you can have as your standby emergency meal when everything else from the fridge and freezer has been used up. A cheap, but not bland, meal.

2. Rice and Vegetables
Simple and healthy, rice and vegetables is good enough on its own, add a little Lee & Perrins sauce and you have yourself a decent little meal.

Something we've all resorted to when short on cash, but nevertheless something that remains a firm (and not too unhealthy) favourite.

Cheap but oh so healthy, salad is a great choice for a lunch when you have little cash but can spare the time to prepare it.

Who doesn't like a big old stir fry? Add chicken if you have it, go for the veggie option if that's all you have in the fridge.

7. Cheese on Toast
Perfect as a snack, you've got your basic cheese on toast...add tomato puree on the base and you have a mini pizza...feeling fancy? Add toppings such as tuna/sweetcorn/fresh peppers

Perhaps not the healthiest option but fun and filling for breakfast or a snack. Needs no preparation (unless you count opening a packet!)

Butter it up and tuck in. Just make sure you find a serrated knife for carving or the loaf will be all wonky next time you want a slice!

No preparation, healthy as you like, refreshing, and you can annoy your housemates by munching the noisiest food in the world (bar crisps). Bingo!
